Frequently Asked Questions

Are there any age restrictions? All Persons wishing to hire a vehicle must be over 25 and have held a full UK driving license for at least 1 year.

What does the insurance cover? Third party motor liability insurance is provided in accordance with UK legislation.

Can I use my own insurance? All insurance cover is provided by JC Halliday & Sons. In certain circumstances your own insurance may be used, however we will require a copy of your insurance cover note.

What do I need to bring with me? The vehicle will not be released for rental unless you provide your full UK driving license (both parts), and a credit/ debit card in the name of the hirer.

Can I take the vehicle overseas? Vans are only to be driven in Ireland, there are no provisions in place to ensure full cover for journeys in Europe.

Can you drop it off on Saturday or Sunday? As we operate from dealer premises, our opening hours are restricted from 9am - 5pm Saturday at weekends. Alternative arrangements may possibly be made in extreme circumstances, please call for details.

Can I return the vehicle outside working hours? Your vehicle needs to be inspected when you return it so there is no possible way we can accept a vehicle outside opening hours. This is as much for your interests as a customer as for us as the supplier.

What way can I pay for my booking? Payment is to be made by credit/ debit card. We may take cash but require a photocopy of your card to use as security for the hire.

What happens if the van is returned late? If the vehicle a returned later than the time specified on the voucher, an addition charge will apply.

What happens if I cancel my booking? In the event of having to cancel your booking, an fee may be taken out of your deposit, please call for further details.
